1. Do you have the Adblock extension installed? In Firefox 3 Adblock incorrectly blocks Flash content, even if your entire page is whitelisted. In this case just disable Flash block. Or use Adblock Plus instead.
2. Just make sure that you have the required minimum version of the Flash Player installed.
3. Ensure that you don’t have a corrupt Flash Player by uninstalling the Flash Player using the Adobe uninstaller and by reinstalling the plug-in via the Adobe Flash Player installation page.

The show will be a mix of music, improvisation, and audio from the web site. There will also be a segment where listeners can call in and share their thoughts with the topic of the week.

We will be posting flyers around campus to generate awareness of this new project, but we will also need your help spreading the word as well. Tell your friends they will have a reason to listen to the student run radio this fall.

A couple things to note out of this:

We want to do a series called What’s up with you!? A solo interview using all of the previous what’s up with that questions. If you are interested, please contact us.

A database consisting of all the previous questions so people can generate four questions to produce their own What’s up with that? show.

Projects for 2008

1. A Brainstorming Club to facilitate as a launchpad for various media projects inside and outside of the Collective.
2. The cutup skit show (working title Snip Skits).
3. A music show of sorts (working title Banana’s New Taste in Music), focusing on local music along with items that are freely available on the Internet.
4. A wiki to organize items for the Brainstorming Club and other projects

As always, if you have any ideas for anything or would like to help with any projects, please let us know. After all, The Media Collective is YOU!

Once we get those out of the way, I think we can move forward on some other audio projects. We are also working on starting a Brainstorming Club. What would a brainstorming club do exactly? I picture a group of people meeting at a coffee shop with ideas of their own to hash out or willing to participate in the creative games that involve chance, improvisation, and randomness. Eat poop you cat, Exquisite Corpse, What is Wrong with this Picture, storytelling modification of Quiddler, and the alternating sentence game are a few that come to mind.
