Interview: #WeAreDaggers

News Channel Internet

We recently had the pleasure of interviewing #WeAreDaggers (Natty Morrison, Ryan King, Manny Cervantes) in front of the Knickerbocker Saloon in downtown Lafayette.

The night was electric; the hottest day of the year, it was Alex Bassice’s birthday celebration, Dino DNA was finishing their set, The Jim Jims were going to play a reunion show, and the night would be topped off with the Green Room Rockers.

In this interview, we were not able to discuss anything about the music of #WeAreDaggers. Instead, we talked about everything else in the world, including the influence Echo Delta has on the group.

If you want to learn more about this new media powerhouse in Lafayette, check out their band and fun blog at WeAreDaggers.com.

Interview: Harry and Jake Speak Politely – 2012-01-21 – Part 1

News Channel Internet

After spending several weeks trying to secure an interview with Harry and Jake of Harry and Jake Speak Politely, we managed to conduct a short interview.

January 21st, 2012. A superb evening of music (High School Girls, Broken Light, Mid-American) at the Knickerbocker Saloon in downtown Lafayette. High School Girls finished their set. Broken Light was adjusting the stage for theirs. I bumped into Harry and asked again for the interview. He agreed. Jake showed up a few minutes later.

We learned that despite the environment, it was not too loud to conduct an interview, why Harry and Jake Speak Politely was created, what happens when the microphone is turned towards one of our News Channel Internet journalists, First Amendment rights, how you find out about other people, how Jake influences Harry, Jake’s super smart phone, and Jake’s habits with a mobile Internet device.

This is the first installment of the series with these two independent media creators, Harry and Jake.

News Channel Internet – Interview: Bridget Johnston

News Channel Internet

Bridget Johnston. Lover of scotch whiskey, dogs, photography, skirts and dresses. Lives vicariously as a New Yorker through Woody Allen to fulfill her childhood dream of living in the city. She decorates her walls with art by Pollock, Ginsberg poems, posters of Mile Davis, cards, and cut-outs from magazines (which she subscribes to none). She fears becoming crotchety, being over bodies of water, dreading her job, and terrible accidents to loved ones. She was a features editor for the Purdue Exponent. She recently moved to Washington to start an internship at the glorious media empire known as C-SPAN. We spoke with Bridget recently over Skype to get her story.
